1. United Health Care Group – United Health Care group
UnitedHealth Group Inc. is an American multinational healthcare and insurance company. The company is headquartered in Minnesota, USA. It provides healthcare products and insurance services. UnitedHealth Group is the eighth largest company in the world by revenue.
UnitedHealth Group had a market capitalization of $4.00 billion as of last year. In 1974, Richard Taylor Burke founded Charter Med Inc., a Minnetonka, Minnesota-based privately held company.
In 1977, United Healthcare Corporation was created to reorganize the company and become Charter Med’s parent company. UnitedHealthcare had a charter.
Later in 1988, UnitedHealthcare started managing its first pharmacy facility through its diversified pharmaceutical services subsidiary. It operates both retail pharmacy and mail-order pharmacy facilities.
The subsidiary was sold to SmithKline Beecham in 1994 for $2.3 billion. In 1994, UnitedHealthcare acquired Ramsey-HMO, a Florida insurer.
In 1995, the company was acquired by The MetraHealth Companies Inc. for $1.65 billion. By acquiring MetraHealth was a privately held company formed from the combination of The Travelers Company and MetLife’s group healthcare operations.
It later changed its name to OptumHealth Bank in 2008 and Optum Bank in 2012.

In 1946, Sangeet was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana as Mutual Hospital Insurance Inc. and Mutual Medical Insurance Inc.
Later in 1972 the two organizations, then known as Blue Cross of Indiana and Blue Shield of Indiana, entered into a joint management agreement.
In 1996, Associated Group changed its name to Anthem Insurance Company.

4. Centene Corporation – Centene Corporation

Centene was founded in 1984 by Elizabeth Breen as a managed health service in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

It is a profitable American health insurance company. It is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.
In 1961, lawyers David A. Jones Sr. and Wendell Cherry founded a nursing home company. which became known as Extendicare in 1968.
Becomes the largest nursing home company in the United States. In 1972, Jones and Cherry sold the nursing home chain to purchase hospitals.
Later in 1974 the partners changed the corporate name to Humana Inc.
Its main objective was to change the public perception from “warehousing” or indifferently treating people with high-level humane care.
